Ian
Ian spent most of his childhood in Adelaide. As a teenager moved to the Adelaide Hills to work in the dairy industry. In the early 1980s Ian and his wife Sue, moved to the Limestone Coast of South Australia. Ian worked on a broad acre farm gaining experience in sheep, beef and cropping. Then in the early 1990s Ian, with his brother Mark, began their journey into horticulture. Ultimately setting up Holla-Fresh and achieving his dream of operating a farm.
Ian along with 4 other family members formed Holla-Fresh in 1991. He shared the role of Managing Director with his brother Mark until 2016 when he became the sole Managing Director. Along with his Management duties Ian relishes being in and amongst the day-to-day operations of the business.
Sue
Sue spent her childhood years on a her families Adelaide Hills dairy farm. She moved to the Limestone Coast of South Australia shortly after her marriage to Ian. She was a Public Servant until the birth of their first two children when she combined Home Duties with self-employment as a Family Day Care Educator. Shortly after their youngest (third) child started school Sue gained employment in the Education sector.
Sue is a founding member of Holla-Fresh. For many years, along with home duties and part-time (off farm) employment, supported the fledging business, as needed, often during the peak pre-Christmas period. Since 2016 when Sue and Ian became the sole owners of Holla-Fresh, she has settled into her joint ownership role with an increasing amount of her time spent on-farm at Holla-Fresh.
Kimberley
Kimberley has lived her entire life in the Limestone Coast of South Australia. She attended school at Tantanoola and Millicent. Upon leaving school Kimberley found employment in administration. Kimberley is married with two children and two step-children.
During the early years of Holla-Fresh along with her brother Paul, Kimberley would spend family time at Holla-Fresh watching Ian and (Uncle) Mark build and fit-out the timber framed greenhouses. Kimberley commenced working at Holla-Fresh in a time when payment was often a ‘Thank You’. She is now the paid (!) Office Manager, working on several R & D and business compliance projects and other specific tasks.
Paul
Paul has spent most of his life in the Limestone Coast of South Australia. He was educated at Tantanoola, Millicent and Adelaide. Upon leaving school Paul commenced working at Holla-Fresh on a casual basis. Living locally he enjoys spending time at the local soccer club, pampering his pets and with his family.
Being quite young in the very early years of the business, Paul struggles to recall life pre-Holla-Fresh. As is common with small family owned business Paul commenced working at Holla-Fresh during school holidays, cleaning tables, transplanting, packing herbs etc. Upon leaving school this part-time employment became full-time with Paul now overseeing two packsheds and managing all the business technology.
Michelle
Michelle has also lived her entire life in the Limestone Coast of South Australia. Michelle was a baby when Ian (Dad) commenced full-time employment at Holla-Fresh. Upon completing her schooling at Tantanoola and Millicent, Michelle worked at Holla-Fresh before moving into hospitality and communications. She is now undertaking tertiary studies. Michelle is married with one child.
Although not currently employed at Holla-Fresh, Michelle followed in her siblings footsteps by working at Holla-Fresh during school holidays. After completing High School, Michelle worked for a while in the greenhouses and packsheds. Michelle assists with our social media and various other off-site tasks.
